I can't say that I never understood it. I can't. You wanted nothing more than to help that poor, innocent new student who had no one else around but herself. That poor girl who was getting bullied by boys her own age and needed a superhero to swoop in and save her; protect her, might I add. You needed to be the one for her to come towards when things went to hell, right? You did as good as you believed you've done. Real good. Too bad you never actually did anything to help that new student at all, did you?

Teachers are supposed to guide their students towards success. I get that. They're supposed to help their students see and understand what path they'd want to take for life. Teachers are supposed to use school and their environments to help show their students just how they want to lead a successful future once that student was older. So, why does it feel as if you've done nothing but clip my wings, so that I was unable to fly on my own? I understood why. It was obvious. Way too obvious. You liked me. I liked you too. Hell. You were my favorite middle school teacher. Out of any person I had to deal with during that messed up time in my life, you always managed to do the very best job at making sure I felt as if there was at least one person who seriously gave a shit about me. I thank you for that. Really, I do. You really did make me feel as if I was 

world. I truly did need someone like that to remind me of how worthy I actually was. Especially in that time of my life, after everything that's happened to me prior to ever meeting you. But seriously. Did you seriously have to get that close to me? I was still a thirteen-year-old girl. You were a middle-aged man with a wife. 

. A woman whom you always boasted about during your class lectures yet would tell me behind the scenes how she '

'. I was thirteen! Why would any of that information have mattered to me? How would any of that information have mattered to me? You would stop halfway through class just to randomly discuss one of your many stories about her; 

; how she always loved and supported you, or what you loved to do, no matter what. She seemed like the ideal partner. Someone that even I dreamt of having one day. Someone who would love me unconditionally, or stayed by my side just to help get me through the day. That was my ideal relationship. The type of love I longed for, and after growing up around the couples I had to be forced to endure my entire childhood... that sounded like the type of love I couldn't ever understand that someone would just give away. But tell me this... 

Did she know about that young student of yours who you spent every waking second with, when you weren't teaching? Did she know all about how you'd constantly tell that same young student how you'd dreamt of taking home and never letting go? Did she ever know about any of those times you'd invite me into your classroom, making sure to lock the door so no other student could enter, in order to give the two of us privacy? Or how nervous you got if someone, student or teacher, made you so nervous if they were to enter the classroom while we were alone? Did she even know all about the one and only student you'd give all your special treatment towards, simply because you felt a bonded connection with her? Did she know about us? 

You knew what was happening behind those doors. You knew exactly what was happening and what he was doing. You know how I know this? I told you. I tried to confide in you. I tried to hint to you that I needed help, but all you cared about was how much you loved that the teachers of your school were getting 

with your students. You were the freaking Principal for Gods sake. How on Earth could you just sit back and allow for this to continue? For this man to do what he was doing to a young teenager. You always thought it to be "

. You'd talk about how adorable I was, gaining a close relationship to my teacher. Always impressed how I always managed to have the best grades in the class. Impressed by how one of your closest buddies would light up every single time he discussed one of his students; '

He talked about you today... You must mean a great deal to him; he always smiles when he talks about you

'. You never found that weird? Odd? How rose-colored were your glasses? Because there was no way you couldn't see what was actually happening behind closed doors. There had to have been no way you couldn't have known what was happening between the two of us. 

I always used to try and vent to you... Confide in you. I used to believe that you'd actually do something to save me... do something to help get me out of that situation. 

I used to believe that you cared enough about your students to make sure none of them ever felt unsafe around your staff members
