Tucked between the outward edge of the Tranquil Forest and the Dobryan Hills is the ancient dominion of Vrator. A picturesque and varied landscape where the Empire's best wines, ales, and cheeses originate. The ten counties of Vrator are left to administrate their affairs for the most part unbothered by Imperial oversight. As per the contract between the Vassel kingdom of Vrator and Banden Crampmire Megantani to secure their knights and cavalry's assistance in the war against Reophate. 

Vrator was instrumental in the defense of the Eidruian Empire during that war, and their forces are kept at maximum potential, all trained in the traditional Vratorian style to maintain Imperial security. 

The shops and eateries of the capital city, Vrator, sell delicacies and crafts from all of the diverse county seats. The famed troll-powered grain mills are still in action, one can walk with the beautiful fairies and potentially see an Eidruian unicorn in the Tranquil Forest, even visit a traveling Dobryan carnival any time of the year in the Ancient Kingdom.

The crafters' skill in Vrator is unparalleled. Killian is known across the continent for its Splendor-blessed artists. Magically enchanted, masterfully crafted wooden furniture, toys, ornate weaponry, and Art objects are forged and built in workshops that were handed down for generations. Their legendarily skilled craftsmen have passed down their skill traditions through family lines since before the Megantanis united the Homeland.

The long history and family lineages, coexisting with the ancient rites and traditions that have not been interrupted or altered by Homeland Callers, make visiting Vrator like taking a step back in time. Vrator is currently governed by Count Godfrey Dunkel, presiding as Mayor of the Capital city and overseer of the Vratorian Council. Duke Halmanis Tellesation is the assigned Eidruian overseer and ambassador to the Imperial Cannon and Parliament.

The Counts of Vrator are highly respected amongst their charges and are all given an equal seat on the Vratorian council. Every county commands sizable forces, despite their relatively mediochre social station across the Empire, as most men and women in Vrator are trained to at least defend their homes, shops, and farms, and every man is enlisted in the standing army of his county when he comes of age. As many as half the female population also join the official force in many counties. Krieger leads the way with 80% of their adult population fully trained and enlisted.

The newest county, Ascher, sits on the remnants of the Ambersmire confederacy, having absorbed its land and many remaining Ambersmirians, along with fleeing Plinthonites at its inception. More unlanded Nobles came to live in Ascher than in most other Vratorian counties. Ascher also has the highest population per capita of enhanced humans outside the Capital of Turqutolia, as well as Trolls, goblins, and mindless undead integrated into the workings of their society. 

The First Count Ascher left his home in County Dutwieler to strike out, creating a new county from the remnants of the war-torn areas. Making use of Dendronica's blessing and using undead minions. Imp’s Tail Lake and The Grieving Grove, which is full of Steel oak and Silver Willows, are two major natural landmarks. The Aschers and many of their vassals are known for their titanic physiques, golden blonde hair, and blue or violet eyes.

Dunkel grows the best grapes and berries for wine. The vineyards are abundant and expertly sewn. Families in County Dunkel have been growing heirloom crops and creating farming traditions for thousands of years to perfect the art of growing. 

Numerous harvest festivals are held in Dunklain, the county seat of Dunkel. Fairs pop up in Ziakene and Omnipuron, the Bountiful Berry Wine Festival comes in Sertaltian, and Emnion brings the Ice Wine and Winter Harvest Fair. Many think of Vratorians as blonde-haired hulks, but there is variety amongst the Vratorians as much as there is the rest of the homeland. The Dunkels are known for having rich mahogany-colored hair and brown or violet eyes to pair with their broad, well-built frames.

The county of Jager is partly in the Tranquil Forest. The hunting traditions of Jager are well established, and many come from across the empire to visit Jager lodges and hunt the forest. The loggers of Jager also practice conscientious logging, making sure to maintain their part of the Tranquil Forest to ensure it will always be there. 

The craftspeople of Jager create high-quality fur and wood products, while selling some of the wood to County Killian for their crafting. Cured, smoked, and salted meats like deer, boar, rabbit, chitterbink, and various birds are exported and sold across the homeland. Pelts, feathers, and casting reagents are also an important part of the Jager economy and the Imperial supply chain. Jager people are known for Black and deep red hair, and grey or green eyes.

Minor houses: Fuchs, Haumann, Hirsch, Holzknecht, Xylander

Killian is the second newest Cousin county, split from County Dunkel. Killian holds some remnants of the Golden Elf Enclave and other fled Plinthonites, giving it more unlanded Nobles than many other counties. All sorts of Artists come from County Killian. Singers, painters, and artisans of all varieties. Wood from County Jager and the Tranquil Woods is used for Carving and furniture making. The beautiful white wool of Vratortian sheep is dyed and worked into highly sought-after garments. Second only to the Emerald silk and delicate knitting that comes out of Dustrica.

With the most prevalence of unusual hair and eye colors on the continent, like blue and purple hair, as well as lavender and every shade of green eyes, the county of Killian is said to be blessed by the Goddess Viddionne with the most beauty in the Kingdom, and possibly the Empire. There is also a high concentration of enhanced humans, adding to the variety of aesthetics found there.

The land of Krieger is filled with heroes, and more than any of their neighbors, focuses on martial training. Even amongst the peasantry, the county is rife with barbarians and gladiators; men and women alike train their whole lives for the love of the art of combat and war. A first Arena was erected in Krieger City. A huge, ancient site of ritual combat that's seen constant use for longer than there are records to tell of it. 

The people of Krieger disproportionately serve in the armed forces of Vrator and in active Imperial forces. High-quality weapons and armor are a main craft in Krieger. Though they may be plainer than those of Killian, they see far more battle testing and are easily enchanted due to the exceptional workmanship and materials.

The family and county Kupfer have, for all intents and purposes, always been the controlling seat of the Vratorian economy. With the Central Vratorian vault, coin mint, and the fractalus financial exchange powered by Thienta and her equivalents. The fields of Kupfer are sown primarily with wheat and barley, which are turned into bread and beer, and consumed across Vrator. 

Besides bankers, other cultured endeavors originate in Kupfer, architectural projects, archives of Vratorian history, museums, and Libraries. The Vratorian school of cultural arts and sciences is located in Thientona, the county seat of Kupfer. 

Minor houses: Egger, Gold, Huber, Kaufer, Kaufmann

Nobles come from across the Empire to secretly consort with various matrons(priestesses) to make advantageous decisions on marriage and other life-altering choices. Callers have made Oros an angel but are still threatened by its power, and catalogue an increasing number of godly servants such as Oros' Flying Eyes as Devils on their way to outlawing deities like Oros. 

The Most temperamental crops come from County Dutwieler; some have multi-year growing seasons or seedlings that require multiple transplantations. While there are many festivals in Vrator, the festival to Oros held in Dutwieler's county seat, Oroson, is the most important to Orosians, with people from across the Empire attending. The Dutwieler family is renowned for their size and moderate temperament. The wide swath of families who have married into the Dutwielers county of families means they have little in the way of cohesive aesthetics.

Official Copies of all records and laws of Vrator are kept here at the Legal Library and Archives of Vrator in Richter City, along with the courthouse and Eidruian Archives and Noble records. 

Richter was the first Cousin county to split, from Kupfer. Count Richter and his people silently opposed joining the Empire, and led the way in the fight to keep Vratorian history and culture alive. A fight they are still engaged in, as many are still unhappy with the arrangement, and the Homeland only tightens its grip. 

The Richters may not share the prodigious size some families in Vrator are renowned for, but often have what is colloquially referred to as Richter Red hair.

County Scrivner, an offshoot of County Gand, has long been dedicated to the written word. As progress marches on, they have updated their production methods, while maintaining the traditionally Vratorian arts. Traditional scribes are still available for hire in the county seat, but printing presses procured from the Gnomes have revolutionized the Vratorian printing industry. Now, works of literary art are produced alongside artisans from County Killian who come together to produce the highest-quality and most beautiful books in the Empire.

County Gand is home to active witch covens, alchemist shops that have been open since before the Empire formed, and the second-best Magic school in the Empire, The Arcane Academe. Though the Gandees would argue it is the best. With an active shrine to Dylanan at the center, practicing users of the arcane arts are truly blessed in their studies. 

Special reagents can be found in the county. Weeping resinous fang trees, a variety of fungi, moss, and all manner of magical flowers reside in the outer edge of the tranquil forest. Even the fields of Gand are filled with cultivated reagents, both benign and poisonous, and the countryside dotted with ancient Caster's towers and Coven houses.
