Day 14: July's Poetry Prompt Challenge
Revolution, Reckoning, and the Poetry of Uprising
By Ellie HoovsPublished 6 months ago • 1 min read

Revolution, Reckoning, and the Poetry of Uprising July 14th, 1789: A bunch of very fed-up Parisians stormed the Bastille - a royal fortress-prison that had become the over-symbolic cherry on top of an already very bitter cake. They didn’t just want change. They wanted transformation. They wanted heads to roll (some literally), voices to rise, and systems to burn down like a firework show in the name of liberté, égalité, and fraternité.
