17 Going On 18...and in Danger (Part 2)
"Hello, Veronica." Jillian Rosen gave her chilly greeting to her teenage stepdaughter, Veronica "Ronnie" Hartnett, who was tied up and gagged in the trunk of Jillian's car, which Jillian drove to an isolated area late at night. "Oh, I'm so sorry," Jillian said sarcastically, "I shouldn't call you Veronica, right? I should call you 'Ronnie'! I always hated your father for coddling you so much. Trapping me into that marriage, forcing me to be a mother for a brat like you. I deserve to be in the lap of luxury, not to be saddled to you for the rest of my life!"

MLB June 2022 Review
June is a pretty vital month in the Major League Baseball season, even if it is early in the year. The month of June is the final month before baseball's All-Star Break, which is a pivotal point of the season, as it pretty much determines who has a shot at the postseason, who will win their divisions, and who needs to do a lot to cross the playoff line. While all of that is still down the line, the month of June was quite memorable. Here are the key occurrences.

Villainess Review: Shauna Teague (Diagnosis Murder)
The classic CBS series, Diagnosis Murder, has pleased this avid fan of villainesses immensely. The show delivered a pretty impressive collection of female baddies, as I noticed when I watched some of the reruns on TV, but one of the best ones was featured in the episode, "Murder by the Book." The episode kicked off with a book signing attended by Mark Sloan, Jesse Travis, and Amanda Bentley, with the featured book being titled, Munchies, Snacks, and Spreads. Because of the title, Mark believes it's a cookbook co-written by a friend of his, Melissa Farnes, but he learns from Amanda that it is definitely not that.

A Look at the Tampa Bay Lightning's Three-Year Run
As a diehard hockey fan, I really enjoyed this insane run from the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was something that hadn't been seen in the NHL in nearly four decades; going to three straight Stanley Cup Finals. It was an absolutely fun sight to see, and to think, in the first few years after losing the Cup Final in 2015, the Lightning actually had problems getting it done when it counted. The year after saw the Bolts in the Eastern Conference Final, but they lost a seven-game thriller to the Pittsburgh Penguins, while 2017 saw them out of the playoffs entirely. In 2018, the Lightning reached the Eastern Conference Final and led 3-2 after five games, but they suddenly forgot how to score--getting shutout in both Games Six and Seven by the Washington Capitals.

CFL Week 3 Recap: Thrown to the Lions
So the third week of the 2022 CFL season was an interesting week for this sports fan. Of course, the week clashed with Game Five of this year's Stanley Cup Final, but I was able to catch a good bit of the action from Week 3. The week kicked off in Montréal, Quebec, as their Alouettes hosted the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who were looking to improve to 3-0. That would not be the case for the Riders, as they were blasted, 37-13, by the Als, marking the Riders' first dent in their plans to play the Grey Cup in their home city of Regina.

Stanley Cup Final Game Six: After 21 Years.... Top Story - June 2022.
Where were you on June 9, 2001? You know where I was? I was in my living room watching Game Seven of the Stanley Cup Final between the Colorado Avalanche and the New Jersey Devils. I watched as Alex Tanguay scored those two goals (one in the first, one in the second), and Joe Sakic put one in as well. I watched as the Avs won 3-1 and captured the Stanley Cup, and I remember that feeling so well. I wanted it again. Fast forward 21 years and 17 days, and that feeling returned.

Villainess Review: Grace and Lauren Jenkins (Trapped With My Husband)
I spent over a month looking forward to this Lifetime film, Trapped With My Husband, which was also known as A Killer Behind Closed Doors, a film that centered on fashion designer Melissa Crawford and her marriage to Kevin Davrow. The film quickly established that all is not what it seems, as Kevin is having an affair with a woman named Grace Jenkins, and in addition, Kevin's also planning to con Melissa out of her money. Melissa finds out about Kevin's cheating and cons and plans to divorce him, but that leads to a big problem: they have to live together in the house because Melissa can't kick him out.

Villainess Review: Gale and Denise Davidson (Walker)
I just want to say that I absolutely love the CW's Walker reboot! I've never seen the Chuck Norris original, but when I learned about this, I was in. The reason can be summed up in two words: Jared Padalecki. Having one half of Supernatural's dynamic duo back in the saddle was enough for me to go all in on this. The first season was immensely awesome, and the same can be said about the second season as well.

Stanley Cup Final Game Five: Opportunity Knocks
Ball Arena was rocking for Game Five of the 2022 Stanley Cup Final, as the Colorado Avalanche were back on their home ice with a chance to win the Stanley Cup for the first time in 21 years. The Tampa Bay Lightning were looking to make things difficult for the Avalanche, and force one final home game of their season.

17 Going On 18...and in Danger (Part 1)
A teenager's 18th birthday is considered a huge rite of passage, and is also the subject of heavy anticipation. Turning 18 means responsibility, it means entering adulthood, and at times, it can also mean emancipation and independence. For those reasons, every teenager looks forward to turning 18, but none more so that Veronica "Ronnie" Hartnett, who has spent the last month counting down the days until that particular day. Though she is looking forward to all of the things that come with being 18, there's one thing she wants the most on that day: getting away from her stepmother.

Stanley Cup Final Game Four: Hail to the Kuemperor
There was a bit of unrest in the Colorado Avalanche fanbase after Game Three. Let's get one thing straight: the Avalanche were not sweeping the Tampa Bay Lightning. Fans knew (or had to have known) that the Lightning would try to strike back big time in Game Three, especially after the shellacking they received in Game Two. The Bolts won 6-2 to get on the board in this year's Stanley Cup Final, and Game Four became pivotal for both teams. A Tampa Bay win means that the series would be deadlocked entering Game Five in Denver. A Colorado win means that they could go home with a chance to win the whole thing on home ice.

Stanley Cup Final Game Three: Pound of Flesh
The Tampa Bay Lightning entered Amalie Arena knowing what was at stake in this year's Stanley Cup Final. They were down 2-0 against the Colorado Avalanche, with Game One being an OT loss while Game Two was an out and out rout. They needed to get back on track, and the scene shifting to their home ice is a good way to do it. However, they did receive some bad news: Brayden Point was out for Game Three. Point missed the last two series before returning in Game One, but his previous issue had resurfaced. As for the Avalanche, they were still without Nazem Kadri, and they received the news that Andre Burakovsky would be out as well.
