I was a free woman. After my experience with Robert, I told Christopher that I cheated on him with a black man. Christopher just shrugged and went back to what he was doing. I didn’t know what I expected from him. I asked for a divorce, and he signed the papers without looking at them. Even at the divorce hearing, he didn’t show up.
