Yujiro Hanma's Power When He Was Baki's Age!
Yujiro Hanma's Power When He Was Baki's Age!

The Baki series has been entertaining their viewers for quite a while with its merciless and action-filled storyline along with its extreme martial arts fight. The total central plot of the series is the father-and-son relationship between Baki Hanma and his father, Yujiro Hanma. Yujiro is one of the characters from the manga and anime series who goes by the "Strongest Creature on Earth." His heartlessness, which nobody else could match, makes him the most powerful of all characters. But while we witness Baki's journey to surpass his father, it's intriguing to imagine what Yujiro Hanma was like when he was at Baki's age. How did Yujiro's power compare to Baki's when they were in their respective primes?
A Glimpse of Yujiro's Strength as a Young Man
Now, when thinking about Yujiro's power at Baki's age, a very important thing should be noticed: Yujiro was far from an ordinary martial artist even when he was young. Yujiro's rise to prominence came pretty early, and he showed just incredible strength and perfect mastering of all the combat techniques which far overstepped his coevals.
By the time Yujiro had reached his late teens and early twenties, roughly the same age as Baki during the majority of the series, he was an extremely feared and highly respected fighter around the world. It's said in this series that Yujiro's potential was developed incredibly early, to the point he could overpower seasoned warriors and even military forces. This point in Yujiro's life can be seen as one in which his ruthless nature and insatiable hunger for strength were being honed.
When he was young, one of the most memorable things that happened in Yujiro's life was taking part in wars and conflicts. He often counterattacked against whole armies all by himself. Once, during the time of the Vietnam War, Yujiro was all alone facing the U.S. military forces, beating some of the most well-trained soldiers with a sweatless forehead. What speaks volumes about such mass-scale battles is his immense power, reflexes, and strategic combat sense, which was evident at the age when Baki is currently.
Yujiro's Martial Arts Abilities and Expertise
While at Baki's age, Yujiro had already mastered many forms of martial arts, during the series, Baki was constantly getting stronger and learning, whereas Yujiro stopped growing when he was young. He even had a somewhat superhuman understanding of martial techniques which allowed him to adapt to any combat style. Grappling, striking, or submission techniques-every form of combat showed Yujiro in an absolutely dominating position.
While Baki's strength as a martial artist came from his rigorous training and discipline, Yujiro's power seemed to completely outclass him at a totally different level, bordering on genetic perfection. His body has been described as the epitome of human evolution whereby it's possible to attain inhuman strength, including maintaining ultimate physical fitness without an ounce of effort. This put Yujiro, when at the age of Baki, close to being invincible against whomever was in his path.
Strength Comparison: Yujiro vs. Baki at the Same Age
To those familiar with the series of Baki, the ultimate goal is always to be better than his father, and so much of the series reflects that. However, a comparison of the two at the same age shows just how much farther Baki needs to go. At Baki's age, Yujiro was already seen to be an undefeated force among his opponents. He had very few who would be on par with his aptitude to crush enemies with sheer brute physical and mental strength. Yujiro was not only a very peculiar fighter but a legend in the making at Baki's age.
On the other hand, Baki, although very powerful for his age and constantly enhancing his strengths, is still depicted to have room for growth. Most of his fights are filled with close calls, intense struggles, and moments where his weaknesses are brought out. Yujiro, even in his youth, showed no weakness.
The most striking manifestation of this difference can perhaps be showcased best in comparing their fights against similar opponents. When Baki was fighting the enormous brute of a man known as Kaoru Hanayama, he could hardly beat the towering fighter; Yujiro, at about the same age, was able to annihilate people who were the same caliber as Hanayama with ease. Such sheer dominance by Yujiro at such a tender age just goes to show how incredible the difference in level was between him and Baki in their youth.
Yujiro Hanma, even at Baki's age, was a character whose strength and power far outmatched almost every other character in this series. As big as Baki's potentiality is, and the struggles he has had to undertake in order to acquire his present status of road martial arts, it is really hard with just pure experience and natural-born strength to surpass such a wall named Yujiro.
While Baki is still in growth as a fighter, Yujiro was, at a younger age, a near-godly figure-one to be feared by the most mighty of opponents. The gap that exists between father and son, particularly when comparing them at the same age, is very wide. This gap serves to tell him that it will not be only strength but wisdom and combat experience that will be needed in Baki's journey toward his father.
In the end, Yujiro Hanma, at Baki's age, was a force of nature: an unstoppable machine whose sole desire was to prove his own strength above all. A question still remains: will Baki ever be able to match his father's strength, no matter how determined? Only time will tell.
