What if Eren Yeager Faked His Death to Escape His Destiny? New Season: Attack on Humans?

So, just imagine this: the tortured lead of Attack on Titan, Eren Yeager, finally breaks under the pressure of carrying the world on his shoulders. Instead of going out in some blaze of glory or, worse still, being fulfilled as the villain, what if Eren had faked his own death to get away from his lifelong destiny? Incidentally, such a plot twist is one we could use.

We know Eren, right? He's the guy who's been at the center since day one: first, in the fight for freedom, the next scheming to the very end of 'everything standing in his way'. All along, he's tossed about by luck, if not governed by powers other than his, yet with resistance fueling his survival instinct. Now, cut back: what if Eren was playing everyone, even himself?

Eren has always been the puppeteer, be it his decision to start the Rumbling or the way he can manipulate the minds of others. He is always one step ahead of the game. Why not fake his death? The perfect move for someone who's always been on the edge, someone who's been forced to play the role of the villain for so long that even he's lost sight of who he really is.

It becomes interesting because the whole plot of Attack on Titan is about cycles: cycles of war, violence, and revenge. What if this was exactly what Eren saw and this time really broke it in a world where he would have been free due to destiny, not by fighting back, but rather just disappearing?. Instead of turning into the monster that everyone had expected, he's gone, leaving behind a chasm, a world that questions everything which was thought about him.

Finally, faking his own death would give Eren complete freedom. Finally, he would live unencumbered by the weight of the world upon his shoulders, be free of the expectations, be free of constant fighting. But would that be enough? Could he finally be free from what was instilled in him, or would his past find a way to catch up to him? That's the question.

And this is where the new season of Attack on Titan can take a dramatic turn. What if the "new season" is not about further fighting or carnage, but the consequences of the presumed killing of Eren? What's their coping mechanism with the world he left behind? Maybe the new generation of warriors will find their path without Eren's shadow?

We could see a shift of focus. Instead of chasing a bad guy, it's oriented to rebuilding a world with no Eren. How can they do that? How could they find peace after a lot of destruction? Suddenly-what if the one destined to save the world is then what happens when that exact person who was meant to save the world is gone, and all that has been left behind are but only the casualties of chaos?

What if, just as the world is moving on, Eren reappears-not as a villain, but as a man who has learned to live for himself, not for the expectations of others? Imagine the shock, the confusion, and the conflict that would erupt if he came back, not to fight, but to finally explain himself.

Eren would be no more the hero or the villain. He would be nothing but a fugitive from the fate that awaited him, a man who made the specific decision to escape the shackles which confined him to an endless cycle of violence. The possibility of his reappearance might begin a new season, but of self-discovery, redemption, and healing, and not of war. Perhaps the real war wasn't about Titans or foes, but rather a sealed fate that has awaited him.

Imagine the world where Eren Yeager had faked his death. Perhaps, after all, the real new season was one that dares against the very roots of fate, proving well it's never too late to rewrite your life. What the world probably didn't need was another hero or another villain but a guy gutsy enough to dare to live for himself.
