Toyota Claims Their EVs Will Have a Range of 900 Miles in the Future
Toyota is reportedly working on battery technology that is capable of over 900-mile range for their electrical vehicles.

So, in some of my earlier chats, I’ve talked about different kinds of electric vehicles. You can find the links to those stories at the bottom of this post.
Today, I wanna give you the lowdown on what’s happening with EVs right now and also spill the beans on this super cool battery tech that Toyota is cooking up. Hang tight, ’cause it’s gonna be an electrifying ride!
The current state of EVs
EVs are all the rage these days. They’ve come a long way. They are now making quite a splash in the automotive world.
In a nutshell, EVs run on electricity instead of traditional fossil fuels like gasoline or diesel. They’re clean, green, and oh-so futuristic.
One of the most exciting things about EVs is that they’re becoming more accessible to everyday folks. In the past, they were seen as expensive toys for the rich and famous, but now automakers are rolling out more budget-friendly models.
A growing variety of EVs is hitting the market, from compact city cars to sleek SUVs catering to different tastes and needs.
The technology behind EVs has also improved by leaps and bounds. Nowadays, you can find EVs with impressive range capabilities, allowing you to go on longer journeys without worrying about running out of juice.
Charging infrastructure has also been expanding rapidly, with more public charging stations popping up in cities and along highways, making it easier to top up your battery on the go.
Speaking of charging, there have been significant advancements in fast-charging technology. This means you can plug in your EV and get a decent amount of charge relatively quickly.
It’s like grabbing a coffee and having your car ready to go! And hey, if you have a home charging station, you can juice up your EV while you sleep or binge-watch your favorite shows.
The performance of EVs is no longer a letdown either. These electric beauties are packing some serious power. They can zoom from zero to sixty in the blink of an eye with instant torque.
They’re generally quieter than their combustion engine counterparts, giving you a smoother and more serene driving experience.
EVs aren’t just about saving the environment and reducing emissions (although that’s a big deal). They can also save you some serious cash in the long run.
Electricity is usually cheaper than gasoline, and EVs require less maintenance since they have fewer moving parts. So, you can say goodbye to those pricey oil changes and hello to more money in your pocket.
Of course, like any emerging technology, there are still a few challenges to overcome. The biggest hurdle is probably some areas’ limited availability of charging stations.
Range anxiety, the fear of running out of battery on a long trip, can still concern some folks. However, as the EV market grows, we can expect these issues to be addressed with time.
What is Toyota’s new battery tech?
Toyota is working on some badass battery technology that could make electric cars go more than 900 miles. They plan to roll out the first cars with this tech as early as 2028.
But wait, it gets even better! In just three years, around 2026, they aim to have EVs that can go up to 600 miles. They’re starting with a fancy Lexus-branded vehicle.
Right now, the Lexus RZ 450e luxury SUV can only go about 200 miles on a full charge. So these new models will be three times better!
Toyota’s really jazzed about this and they say it’s going to revolutionize the future of cars. They’re combining this battery breakthrough with some cool “sonic technology” to achieve a cruising range of 621 miles (that’s 1,000 kilometers).
They’re also improving the aerodynamics, so the new electric models will have a sleeker look compared to the boxy Toyota bZ4X.
Toyota’s not messing around, they’re planning to launch a whole bunch of electric cars by 2026. They want to make 1.7 million of their own EVs by 2030, but they expect 3.5 million electric cars will be on the market globally.
They’re not just focused on electric power, though. Toyota wants to go big on hydrogen fuel-powered cars too. Yeah, it’s a smaller market right now, but they see the potential. Hydrogen fuel cells can take you even farther than electric tech without needing to stop and refuel.
At first, they’re gonna focus on hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles because the refueling infrastructure in Europe and other places is more set up for businesses.
The only downside is that hydrogen fuel is pretty expensive right now and is not as widely available as gasoline or diesel. But Toyota’s aiming to supply about 100,000 hydrogen-powered vehicles to the world by 2030. That number could increase if other car makers also jump on the bandwagon.
Final Words
Toyota’s groundbreaking battery technology is set to revolutionize the future of cars.
With plans to launch electric vehicles capable of traveling over 900 miles by 2028 and 600 miles by 2026, Toyota is committed to pushing the boundaries of range capabilities.
The future of sustainable transportation looks promising with Toyota’s innovative approach.
