Where to next for the series?

Well, let me try putting it a bit more bluntly-darker. If you ever wondered how much one's human nature could take on before breaking, this is where you'll be left thinking a lot. Squid Game is more than about survival; the choices that are made when cornered, the ways in which greed and power pervert someone, and the morality which is lost to life-or-death stakes.

The first season was like an uppercut to the chest: you were hooked from that very first game, and after each episode, you wanted to know just how far you'd go to save yourself from your own misfortunes. But now that the stage is set and we know what to expect from the game, Season 2 is not about the surprise-it's about the why. Why do people continue playing? Why do they betray their comrades, sacrifice their ethics, and risk it all? Get ready to hear more of the human beings in the faces behind the masks" as the story digs even deeper into why the players would do such a thing and why those "behind the curtain" are pulling the strings in the first place.

If you thought that twist from the first season was something, then strap yourselves in for even more unexpected turns. While season 2 does offer a little view into the inner working mechanism of the game itself, more secrets about that pretty much elusive organization they do represent are in store, something which we have all viewed in bits and bits previously. I'm thinking here of those people putting others through the ordeal themselves in so much danger. How will they work? How can they benefit, if there is any benefit arising?

But the best is, USquid game has abandoned being a test of physical strength and is just as much a test of the mind. What happens when players cannot trust anyone any longer? When all comradeships break down, and everyone freaks out? With greater stakes than before and players who have been taught by their mistakes in the game, they are not playing for cash; they are playing by playing for their lives. And the question you’ll be left with after each episode is: who will make it out, and at what cost?

What stands out most, though, is the human element. It's a series that has never backed away from life's brutal realities-poverty, desperation, and the will to survive. It is that unapologetic look at what it means to be human in the face of the well beyond all reason that makes us return for more. With Season 2, I'm expecting even more raw, uncomfortable moments that really force us to reflect on our own world. Certainly, we may not be fleeing for our lives in a game of red light, green light, the longing for, the acquisitiveness, and the loss of self are just as well-known to our daily living.

What will Season 2 bring? I think the more interesting question is what we will bring to it. Squid Game is not a show; it's a mirror showing those sides of us which we don't really want to face. Having jumped back into this crazy world of high stakes once again, we will confront just how dark it gets-not in that arena, but in the core of every human. That's what makes it really captivating.

Season 2 is coming, and if you thought you saw the worst of it-well, think again. The real game is just getting started.
