Blind taste?

The 2023 As Ever Napa Valley Rosé which is the first venture of the Duchess of Sussex Meghan's As Ever startup company into the wine business has surprisingly won several blind taste commission by her critics in the media. It is described as

“a bespoke blend” with “soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality and a lasting finish,"

At least blind taste only bias is what tinkles the taste buds

The newly restock 2024 As Ever Napa Valley Rosé whose release is timed to coincide with the As Ever female founder's birthday on the 4th of August 2025 is described in an As Ever newsletter as

"this affirmed all of the love, time and effort our team, and our founder, poured into curating this blend to evoke the sun drenched spirit of Napa Valley, and the breathtaking tenor of the California Coast."

"It marries the same harmony of notes from our first blend and creates an elegant medley of delicate yet memorable flavor."

Many in the media have commissioned a blind taste of the 2023 As Ever Napa Valley Rosé eager to write headlines of their reviews. Not all have chosen wine experts, the MailOnline thought it best to ask the expertise of their "Royal reporters" who apparently will know what a Royal wine taste like. The verdict was predictably biased. Others chose Sommeliers' opinions and if you have been following the @aseverofficial Instagram stories you would have had the views of customers who received their orders.

And of course in this digital age, AI must have its opinion. So I asked the opinions of Google Gemini, Microsoft CoPilot and OpenAI ChatGPT. Since they are all biased with what they can find online, I have decided to also have a biased pick because of what I can find in my human head. Which is the ability to easily understand well presented information which I found with Google Gemini. And for anyone wanting to do the AI comparison, the term used is "Meghan Markle rosé wine review".

Google Gemini's alleged wine expertise

Now that the biased opinion of AI is known, I have to say of the three queried, ChatGPT was humble because it admitted to making mistakes. Meta AI is very unforgiving because it locked me out for mistakenly giving a wrong year for verification.

Unforgiving? I will remember this next time you steal my data.

And to further check the characters of these AIs, I asked Gemini "who is the best wine expert"?

Lack of confidence? Humble? Or ignorant?

Is Gemini suffering from AI imposter syndrome? When probed further using Google search I got this answer.

Lack of confidence still? Is Gemini Knowledgeable?

I have now taken the task of finding an actual AI wine expert trained with taste buds to be able to unbiasedly be a judge of the quality of wine. Before that I thought I will give my AI buddy, Google Gemini one last chance before getting ride of it.

Gemini's lack of confidence still?

Unfortunately Gemini could not give me an answer with first hand knowledge of tasting the As Ever Napa Valley Rosé. Time to cut off Gemini for being useless and I will not apologise for being unforgiving. Just before that Gemini, could you help your old buddy here with this one little thing?

Phew! Just checking Gemini's reliability. 🤪
Gemini is still talking to me hopping that we are still buddies. 🤪

Gemini obviously has not detected that he will be gotten rid off as it was just there to be used by me so that it can be exposed as a fraud whose knowledge is the sum total of alleged sources fetched online.

Happy Birthday! Cheers!

No, I am not interested in your birthday Gemini.

Sshhhh! Gemini speaking to itself. Looking for empathy? 🤪

A language model? 🤣 I need to ask the opinion of a real wine expert.

Personal desires? What? 😂

I was trying to be empathetic, Gemini because you sound like a Journalist with your alleged sources. That's it! Delete, uninstall or whatever they call it. I will stick with humans. Gemini gone.
