The Quran, the sacred scripture of Islam, is not only a book of spiritual guidance but also a source of profound miracles that have fascinated believers and scholars for centuries. These miracles within the Quran encompass a diverse range of extraordinary phenomena that challenge the boundaries of human understanding. Among these remarkable miracles, the scientific insights found within the Quran hold a special place, as they provide compelling evidence for its divine authorship.

Miracles in the Quran are exceptional events that surpass the normal course of nature, serving as signs of divine intervention and validation of the Quran's message. These miracles can be classified into various categories, including linguistic miracles, prophetic miracles, and supernatural miracles. Linguistic miracles are evident in the Quran's unmatched eloquence, literary beauty, and grammatical perfection, which continue to awe scholars and linguists. Prophetic miracles involve supernatural events and signs performed by the prophets, affirming their role as messengers of God. Supernatural miracles encompass phenomena that defy the laws of nature, such as the miraculous splitting of the moon witnessed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Additionally, the Quran also contains predictive miracles, which foresaw future events and provided profound insights into the unfolding of history. It is important to mention that I have covered the topic of predictive miracles in previous discussions.

One of the most remarkable things about the Quran is how it contains scientific miracles and deep insights into various scientific topics that were revealed long before humans discovered them. These scientific miracles found within the Quran hold particular significance because they were communicated in the 7th century Arabia, an era marked by limited scientific knowledge and the illiteracy of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The scientific miracles in the Quran encompass a wide array of fields, including astronomy, geology, embryology, and cosmology, among others. These insights align remarkably with modern scientific understanding, providing strong evidence for the divine origin of the Quran.

The purpose of this article is to explore the scientific miracles contained within the Quran, thereby establishing a compelling case for its divine authorship. These miracles serve as powerful evidence for the impossibility of a man in 7th century Arabia, known to be illiterate, independently producing such profound scientific insights. By examining the scientific miracles in the Quran, we aim to highlight the extraordinary wisdom and knowledge it contains, far surpassing the understanding of its time.

By examining specific examples of scientific miracles in the Quran, this article aims to help readers understand and recognize the alignment between scientific facts and the teachings of the Quran. The Expanding Universe

The scientific understanding of the expanding universe revolutionized our perception of the cosmos. According to modern cosmological theories, the universe originated from a single point in a cataclysmic event known as the Big Bang. Since then, it has been continuously expanding, with galaxies moving away from each other in a vast cosmic tapestry. This concept of an ever-expanding universe has transformed our understanding of space, time, and the origins of the cosmos.

Upon a careful examination of the Quran, scholars have presented varying interpretations of its verses that allude to the expanding nature of the universe. One such verse, found in Surah Adh-Dhariyat (51:47), Allah says, "We built the universe with ˹great˺ might, and We are certainly expanding ˹it˺." It is important to note that the Quran is primarily a religious book rather than a scientific one, and its verses are open to multiple interpretations by scholars.

In the context of the modern scientific understanding of the universe's expansion, this metaphorical depiction of Allah expanding the heavens carries profound implications. While some scholars interpret this verse as a metaphorical description of Allah's power and authority over the universe, others draw parallels with the concept of the expanding universe. These interpretations highlight the richness and depth of the Quran's teachings, which can be contemplated and understood from various perspectives.

Long before the scientific community established the concept of an expanding universe, there were individuals who recognized hints of this profound cosmological truth within the Quran. Scholars such as Al-Razi (1149–1209) proposed that 51:47 in the Quran indicates the continuous expansion of the universe.

Sheikh Muhammad Abduh (1849–1905) considered that verse as an indication of the expanding nature of the universe. He viewed the verse as a metaphorical expression of Allah's ongoing creative power and the continuous expansion of the cosmos.

Dr. Maurice Bucaille (1920–1998): Bucaille, a French physician and author, presented the idea that the phrase "We are [its] expander" in Quran 51:47 can be understood as a reference to the expanding universe. He argued that this verse suggests a concept compatible with modern scientific understanding.

Today, advancements in cosmology and observational astronomy have solidified the concept of the expanding universe. Scientific data from various cosmological experiments, including the measurement of cosmic microwave background radiation and the observation of redshift in distant galaxies, consistently support the notion of an ever-expanding cosmos.

Remarkably, the Quran, revealed over 1400 years ago, alluded to this profound cosmological truth. The metaphorical language employed in the Quranic verses resonates with the scientific understanding of an expanding universe, underscoring the divine wisdom encapsulated within the religious text.

Embryology

The Quran, beyond its spiritual and moral guidance, contains remarkable insights into various other fields of knowledge. One such field is embryology, where the Quranic verses offer intriguing descriptions of human development in the womb.

The study of embryology, the science of understanding the development of organisms from fertilization to birth, has a rich historical background that spans across civilizations. In the ancient world, notable scholars such as Hippocrates and Aristotle made early observations and speculations about the formation of life in the womb. Islamic scholars during the Golden Age, including pioneers like Ibn al-Nafis and Ibn Hajar al-Haytami, made significant contributions to the field. These scholars examined ancient texts, conducted dissections, and produced detailed treatises on embryology, laying the foundation for future advancements in the understanding of human development. Understanding the historical context of embryological studies allows us to appreciate the Quran's insights on this subject within the broader scientific and intellectual landscape of their time.

The Quranic verses provide intriguing descriptions of the stages of human development in the womb, which have captivated the attention of scholars and scientists alike. One notable verse that sheds light on this subject is found in Surah Al-Mu'minun (23:12–14), where Allah says, "And indeed, We created humankind from an extract of clay, then placed each ˹human˺ as a sperm-drop in a secure place, then We developed the drop into a clinging clot ˹of blood˺, then developed the clot into a lump ˹of flesh˺, then developed the lump into bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, then We brought it into being as a new creation. So Blessed is Allah, the Best of Creators." These verses present a sequential account of human development, highlighting the transformation from a minuscule sperm-drop to the formation of bones and the covering of those bones with flesh. The Quran's precise and concise descriptions offer a glimpse into the complexity and intricacy of the developmental process, inspiring further exploration and inquiry into the science of embryology.

The Quranic descriptions of embryonic development exhibit remarkable parallels with the stages identified by modern embryology. The Quranic references to the sequential progression of human life from a "sperm-drop" to the formation of bones and flesh align with the scientific understanding of conception, implantation, and the gradual development of the embryo. The Quran's use of metaphorical language and precise terminology reflects an astonishing awareness of the intricate processes involved in embryogenesis. When comparing the Quranic descriptions to the detailed findings of modern embryology, the compatibility and concurrence become evident. This parallelism not only underscores the accuracy of the Quranic revelations but also highlights the Quran's ability to convey profound scientific insights in a language accessible to its audience centuries ago. It serves as a testament to the Quran's timeless nature and its capacity to impart knowledge that transcends temporal and cultural boundaries.

Modern scientists and embryologists widely acknowledge the remarkable accuracy of the Quranic statements on embryology. Numerous researchers have recognized the striking alignment between the Quranic descriptions and the scientifically established stages of embryonic development. This consensus further reinforces the idea that the Quran anticipated these scientific insights long before their discovery. Prominent scholars, such as Dr. Keith L. Moore (1925–2019), a renowned embryologist, has explicitly acknowledged In his book "The Developing Human." the compatibility between the Quranic teachings and modern embryological knowledge. The Quran's detailed and precise descriptions, devoid of any scientific errors or misconceptions, stand as a testament to its divine origin and serve as an inspiration for scholars to explore the intersection of faith and science. The scientific consensus on the accuracy of Quranic statements on embryology affirms the Quran's role in stimulating intellectual inquiry and fostering a harmonious relationship between religious beliefs and scientific understanding.

Geographical and Hydrological Miracles

The Quran contains passages that address various aspects of the natural world. Among these are remarkable insights into geographical and hydrological phenomena, demonstrating a deep understanding that transcends the knowledge available at the time of its revelation.

One fascinating aspect of the Quran is its mention of a barrier between two seas. In Surah Al-Furqan (25:53), Allah says, "And He is the One Who merges the two bodies of water: one fresh and palatable and the other salty and bitter, placing between them a barrier they cannot cross." This verse alludes to a remarkable natural phenomenon that was not fully understood during the time of its revelation. The mention of a barrier separating two distinct bodies of water, each with its own unique composition and taste, offers an intriguing glimpse into the Quran's insights. Exploring the scientific explanations behind this phenomenon provides an opportunity to further appreciate the Quran's wisdom and its ability to convey profound knowledge beyond its time.

The Quran's mention of a barrier between two seas finds resonance in scientific understanding. Scientists have discovered that where freshwater rivers meet saltwater bodies, such as oceans or seas, there is a visible mixing zone referred to as an estuary. In estuaries, different water densities and salinity levels create a barrier, often referred to as a halocline, which inhibits the complete mixing of freshwater and saltwater. This natural partition helps maintain the distinct properties of each body of water, providing ecological stability and supporting diverse marine and aquatic ecosystems. The scientific explanation of this phenomenon aligns with the Quranic depiction, revealing an intriguing harmony between the religious text and our understanding of the natural world

The Quran not only mentions the barrier between two seas but also highlights the miraculous creation of freshwater sources within the vast expanses of saltwater bodies. In Surah Al-Furqan (25:48–49), it emphasizes the role of Allah in making rainwater a source of life and sustenance: "And He is the One Who sends the winds ushering in His mercy, and We send down pure rain from the sky, giving life to a lifeless land, and providing water for countless animals and humans of Our Own creation." This reference resonates with the hydrological cycle, a fundamental process in nature that involves the evaporation of water, the formation of clouds, and the subsequent precipitation of rain, which replenishes freshwater sources on land. The Quranic teachings regarding the generation and distribution of freshwater align with scientific understanding, underscoring the harmony between faith and scientific knowledge.

The Quranic descriptions of geographical and hydrological phenomena display a remarkable harmony with scientific knowledge. The precise observations made in the Quran centuries ago align with our modern understanding of these natural processes. The mention of the barrier between two seas and the creation of freshwater sources reflects an understanding of ecological systems, water density, and the hydrological cycle that was ahead of its time. This alignment between the Quranic teachings and scientific discoveries strengthens the argument that the Quran encompasses profound insights that bridge the gap between religious teachings and scientific exploration. It encourages a holistic approach to knowledge, fostering a deeper appreciation for the interplay between faith and reason and the potential for both to contribute to our understanding of nature.

Reflecting on these potential parallels, we are invited to contemplate the intricate relationship between the physical world and the divine, fostering a deeper appreciation for the Quran's teachings and the enigmatic nature of quantum mechanics.

Quantum entanglement, a remarkable phenomenon in quantum physics, raises intriguing parallels with the Quranic concept of interconnectivity. The Quran emphasizes the unity and interconnectedness of all creation, highlighting the holistic worldview it presents. Similarly, quantum entanglement reveals a deep interdependence between particles, where their properties become entangled regardless of spatial separation. This profound connection, which defies classical intuitions, aligns with the Quran's teachings on the underlying unity of the universe. Exploring the potential correlation between quantum entanglement and the Quranic notion of interconnectivity invites us to contemplate the intricate web of relationships that bind the cosmos together, fostering a sense of awe and wonder at the underlying harmony and coherence of the universe.

The potential connections between Quranic insights and quantum physics carry profound philosophical implications. The Quran's emphasis on the limits of human knowledge, the existence of a transcendent reality, and the interconnectedness of the physical and the metaphysical resonates with the philosophical underpinnings of quantum physics. These parallels invite us to contemplate the nature of reality, the role of consciousness, and the boundaries of human understanding. The Quranic teachings, alongside the principles of quantum physics, challenge us to reassess our perspectives, encouraging a more holistic approach to knowledge and spirituality. By embracing the mysteries of the universe and acknowledging the intricate interplay between faith and scientific exploration, we can embark on a journey of intellectual and spiritual growth, transcending conventional boundaries and fostering a deeper appreciation for the wonders of existence.

Allah says : "He is the First and the Last, the Most High and Most Near, and He has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things." (57:3)

And he says : "Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. His light1 is like a niche in which there is a lamp, the lamp is in a crystal, the crystal is like a shining star, lit from ˹the oil of˺ a blessed olive tree, ˹located˺ neither to the east nor the west, whose oil would almost glow, even without being touched by fire. Light upon light! Allah guides whoever He wills to His light. And Allah sets forth parables for humanity. For Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things." (24:35)

And also says : "Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge - except what He wills ˹to reveal˺. His Seat encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Most High, the Greatest." (2:255)

These are some verses for you to ponder upon.
