Other ways I come up with content ideas (for my blog and clients)
It's not just the keywords you know ...

I`ve been producing content online since 2014. Yup! I hung out on Google+ and wrote about Periscope too. A post I wrote for Optinmonster talking about a failed social platform
And over the years, I`ve had to be inventive in finding content ideas. I didn`t use SEO at that time, and I didn`t even know much about keywords and SEO tools. I used what I had, and even today, I lean on these quick easy methods to find content ideas. So, if you`re stuck and aren`t paying for Jasper, Ahrefs, or SurferSEO, try these out!
Your Life
But I have nothing interesting going on!
Well, neither do I! But, I still manage to find content ideas to write about based on my experiences and daytoday life. When I started my Twins Mommy blog, I created many blog posts about being a mom to twins which helped me grow an audience of other moms and other twin moms. This post was fun to write and it resonated with my new audience too!
If your life seems uneventful, make it eventful with a case study! Challenge yourself and then write about the results! People on Medium enjoy these types of articles!
I Raised My Freelance Rates and This Is What Happened
Declare your rates and the clients will come
You can do writing challenges, reading challenges, weight loss challenges, or making money challenges!
It`s really up to you! The only downside to this type of content idea is that it does take time to do. I`m doing two challenges right now, but they are not over and I can`t write about them yet.
Do you use LinkedIn? And not as a designer for your company?
I created a LinkedIn profile in 2014. It's mainly used to create landing operations, but recently I've been connecting with viewers and increasing posts. Posting more on LinkedIn will definitely increase your views.
But did you know that you can find lots of content ideas just by engaging in the content you see? I love looking at my feed and commenting on other people's posts. From time to time I read posts that inspire content ideas. I'm not stealing your ideas, but your topic gives me new substantive ideas.
For example, if you follow Semrush on LinkedIn, you'll find lots of great advice to help companies rank on Google. One post is their annual stats and I loved how they put together information about SEO and business stats. That caused something in me, and I ended up doing my own research on the statistics of freelance content writers. Part of my first study
We also use LinkedIn to help you find your customers' items. My niche is digital marketing, so I enjoy writing on various social media platforms. Pitch sent to the editor and approved by the editor
Other Ways to Use LinkedIn for Content Ideas:
Check out the polls and use the topic as a "seed" to get more ideas
Check out the news and stats to express your opinions and thoughts about the content
Round up the best Lined In posts from the best ideological leaders on this platform that you like to read.
I love Pinterest!
I have several Pinterest profiles and have been perfecting how to create pins for years. It's a fun platform for new bloggers and helps to quickly attract traffic to new websites. But I'm using Pinterest to find content ideas. You can enter keywords or niches to see popular topics. Pinterest
You can check for "bubbles" or scroll down the feed to do related searches.
These will help you come up with ideas for content that is popular with blogs and clients.
For example, if you have a beauty client, you can see that organizing your makeup is a popular topic on Pinterest. You can create dozens of content pieces about this central theme:
Organizing makeup brushes
Best stackable makeup organizers
How to store a lot of makeup Podcasts are a great way to get information but they can also help you with generating more topics. I listen to blogging and marketing podcasts, and I always get tons of ideas while listening and folding laundry! One podcast talked about blogging mistakes and wondered if blogging was even worth it. This got me thinking about if blogging is dead, and I wrote a blog post on that!
Go to Google and search podcasts in your niche and start listening!
I have two Youtube channels, and ever since I created those channels, I`ve been on Youtube more. I`m a Better Writer Because I Have 6 Blogs & 2 Youtube Channels
Sometimes more is better
I enjoy watching entertainment videos but also marketing and blogging videos. I'm following Rachh Loves Life and her overly sponsored video. Photos I took from Rachh Love's Youtube video
She lives in Canada and is a mom like me, so she enjoys her funny videos.
Well, I decided to bring Zapier to the topic of over-sponsored brands, and they liked the idea! The end result was to focus on the FOMO aspect of how these brands are over-sponsored, but overall, it was all from the YouTube series I saw!
As you can see, none of these depended on searching for the right keywords. From time to time, you just have to take what you see or think your audience is enjoying and write it. This is the way I worked for years before investing in SEO, and it still works!
