Musk wanted to run away when he saw that things were going badly, but Trump directly refused: Neither of us can run away

Musk recently publicly stated that he will resign in 130 days.

Recently, Musk publicly stated that he would resign after 130 days. Yes, resigning after 130 days, I would also resign if I were in his place. Apart from other things, the efficiency department led by Musk has recently eliminated many American departments and uncovered many American scandals, including the DEI department, CIA, and even the FBI. While helping Trump clean up his political enemies, it has saved the United States at least $400 billion to $500 billion in losses.

We can see that he has ruined countless jobs, and they are all high-ranking officials, chaebols, and families. To be honest, let alone Musk, anyone would feel guilty.

Moreover, anti-Musk forces across the United States have begun to exert their strength. Internally, the Federal Employees Union has filed more than 50 lawsuits, accusing him of violating privacy rights; externally, Tesla's global sales have plummeted by 76%, and its stores have been frequently attacked by arson. This situation of being surrounded by enemies confirms Musk's crisis state of "receiving death threats every day".

In addition, there are many complaints about Musk within the Republican Party. When Musk asked cabinet members to submit weekly work plans, Rubio and other Republican establishment figures openly disobeyed his orders. After all, the Republican establishment is also part of the deep government of the United States. Secondly, Musk jumped from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party, and is a second-rate official. It is normal for the Democratic Party elders to dislike him.

Faced with the crisis of Tesla's market value evaporating by $700 billion, the consumer boycott rate rising to 67%, and the four-way stranglehold from both the Democratic and Republican parties, Musk plans to retreat in order to advance, saying that in the next 130 days, he will help Trump complete the "surgical operation" on 19 federal departments, complete the KPI of 1 trillion deficit reduction, and then step down immediately. This is both to fulfill political promises and to reserve a step for returning to the business empire.

This "political and business dual-habitat" retreat design is quite oriental wisdom: it not only retains the identity of a "special government employee" to avoid Senate review, but also lays the groundwork for future political and business resource conversion through blockchain technology layout. Just like the separation of powers under the "dispatching" system of the Song Dynasty, Musk is well aware of the survival philosophy of "both advancement and retreat can be mediated".

But Trump won't let him go so easily. After all, Musk and his Government Efficiency Department are the sharpest knives in Trump's hands now.

Trump sees Musk's reform as a "loyalty tester". By closing down traditional Democratic strongholds such as the Agency for International Development, he not only strikes at political opponents, but also tests the obedience of the Republican Party. This kind of "calling a horse a zebra" political manipulation makes Trump very satisfied. After all, he wants to deal with the deep government, but he doesn't want to die, so he really needs white gloves like Musk to touch the bottom line of the deep government. In this way, if something goes wrong, he can just take off the gloves and it won't affect him.

So when Musk wanted to step down, Trump immediately spoke to keep him. Although his words seemed tender and affectionate, they revealed that he did not want to die and wanted Musk to die for him.

What's more, the current situation in the United States is extremely urgent. Trump's tariff policy is currently accused of being a Hoover-style suicide. After multiple tariff increases, the US economy has fallen into a new low. Under this circumstance, the political opponents who were previously attacked by Trump are likely to make a comeback. So Trump needs Musk more than ever. Musk is now his scapegoat. It can be said that no matter how good Musk's plan is, as long as Trump doesn't nod, he will never leave the US government.

I had expected this outcome. When Trump first came to power, I predicted that something bad would happen to him within 200 days. But now it seems that I overestimated Trump, or I underestimated the problems of the United States.

Musk's team, with an average age of 28, is a technical elite that works 16 hours a day to tear open the rotten flesh of the American system, but unexpectedly, this operation has accelerated the spread of the political ulcer in the United States. It is too late to get out of this mess now. Musk now has only two endings: either go all the way and fight the deep government with real swords and guns with the momentum of a last-ditch fight; or he can only be a white glove for Trump to take the blame. There is no third way.
