Did Eren Yeager Fake His Death to Start a New Plan? Attack on Titan (2025)

Anime!

Let’s be real—Eren Yeager has always been full of surprises, and the ending of Attack on Titan left us with more questions than answers. Like, did Eren really die? Or, hear me out—did he fake his death to set something bigger in motion? And with all this buzz, is there actually a new season coming in 2025? Let’s dive into it.

Could Eren Really Fake His Death?

Alright, I know what you're thinking. We've all seen Eren's head get separated from his body by Mikasa; it felt final, right? But this is Attack on Titan, a series that just loves to twist and turn at every corner. Just when you thought you had it all figured out, BAM-Isayama throws in a curveball.

Eren possesses the Founding Titan, which links him to the paths—a world out of time, considering that it connects all Eldians. This power gives him more than mere humanness and grants him powers of manipulation over time, memory, and reality itself. Well, the idea of faking his death is not exactly out of the woods regarding Eren.

Think about it: Eren's ultimate goal was freedom, not just for himself, but for the people of Paradis. But his methods turned him into the world's biggest villain. By "dying," he could escape the consequences of his actions while still ensuring his plan unfolds from the shadows. It's a classic Eren move-sacrificing everything, including his identity, for the greater good.

The Ending and the Kid at the Tree

Here's where things get even more interesting: that final scene, with the kid approaching the tree? Way too symbolic to ignore. The tree resembles the one where Ymir first encountered the source of Titan power. It feels like full-circle, but at the same time, it leaves the door open for a new story.

What if Eren's "death" was merely the opening chapter to another? Perhaps he's not gone but one with the paths or the tree itself. The kid could represent a new era of Titans, one in which Eren is still influencing from behind the scenes. It's speculative, sure, but with Attack on Titan, anything is possible.

A New Season in 2025?

Now, let’s talk about the rumors of a new season. Is it happening? As of now, there’s no official confirmation of Attack on Titan continuing in 2025. The anime adaptation of the manga has wrapped up, and the story feels complete—or at least as complete as Isayama wanted it to be.

But here's the thing: The ending left enough ambiguity to build on. Whether it's a sequel, a spin-off, or even a prequel exploring Ymir's origins, there's plenty of material to work with. Fans have been buzzing about the potential for a continuation, and with the show's massive popularity, it wouldn't be surprising if something new is announced.

Why We Can't Let Go of Eren

It is because of Eren's journey that makes this series unforgettable; a kid who just wanted freedom ended up becoming the representation of sacrifice and will to move forward, even when one's decisions can never be justified. Whether he is loved or hated, Eren as a character makes one think over and over about morality, purpose, and the cost of freedom.

If Eren actually faked his death, this would not be a twist in the plot but more of a statement to identify his character. This means he will go all the way to materialize his vision, even at the cost of his life being erased from history.

Final Thoughts

So, did Eren Yeager fake his death to start a new plan? Perhaps. Is there a new season coming in 2025? Who knows. But one thing is certain: Attack on Titan has left behind a legacy that fans will continue to talk about for years to come.

What do you think? Do you think it's really possible that Eren's alive, hiding in the shadows? Would you want the story to continue further, or should it just be left perfect in its current state? Me, I'm divided-but isn't that just exactly what Attack on Titan is for?

I hated the fact that he’s the main character and died I get that but for me some how some way he’s alive and even with his head cut off from his body doesn’t he have that healing factor because of the founding titan and he still had the marks on his face but i don’t know it sucks to see him die like that if he isn’t alive he was my favorite character in the series it kind of made me cry a little bit but hopefully he comes back to reunite with Mikasa
