ChatGPT-style tech brought to Microsoft 365
The technology behind the world's most talked about artificial intelligence (AI) system, ChatGPT, is being added to its most ubiquitous work software, Microsoft 365.

The solution will be integrated into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, according to Microsoft, which is naming it Copilot.
It will "fundamentally disrupt the way we operate," according to Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft.
The business acknowledged, nevertheless, that Copilot was prone to errors.
Copilot's features consist of:
- Providing summaries for anyone who joins late or misses the entire chat by summarizing the main points of a discussion that took place using the meeting software Teams
- Making PowerPoint presentations using questions and including images
- email drafts
- lengthy email and document analyses
- Excel spreadsheets are used to create data summaries and graphs.
Due to its fast delivery of human-like answers to queries, even those that are extremely difficult or esoteric, Chat GPT has gained widespread interest.
These responses, though, sporadically contain errors or offer wholly made-up data.
Despite not being ChatGPT itself, the technology that Microsoft is integrating into Office365 uses the similar approach to language learning.
Copilot may occasionally be "usefully inaccurate," according to the company.
"Everyone wants to concentrate on the 20% of their work that is truly important, yet hectic stuff that drains us takes up 80% of their time. The burden is lessened with Copilot "In a statement, the tech behemoth claimed.
Roll-out specifics have not yet been disclosed.
GPT4, a new iteration of the model that drives ChatGPT, was released by OpenAI on Tuesday. Billions of dollars have been invested in the company by Microsoft.
OpenAI said GPT4 had "more sophisticated reasoning abilities" than ChatGPT, but cautioned that it might still be prone to spreading misinformation.
In the competitive field of AI chatbots, ChatGPT is a strong contender.
ChatGPT could endanger Google's lucrative search business, therefore the search giant has introduced a rival named Bard.
Blenderbot, a chatbot created by Meta, and Ernie, also known as Wenxin Yiyan, a chatbot created by tech giant Baidu, have both been updated to be more sophisticated.
In doubt, this is a key turning point for generational AI and, more crucially, for the workplace.
Millions of workers will directly benefit from ChatGPT's capabilities when they are integrated into the simple Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs—possibly the most used office productivity tools.
I am aware of folks who have used ChatGPT to create speeches, computer code, and website material in order to aid them with their employment. In order to assist them with their assignments, students use it.
Yet, the majority of us are having fun and using it to create songs, poetry, and jokes. Who had used ChatGPT, I inquired of a live audience. Many raised their hands. When I questioned who was using it for work, though, the majority quickly fell back down.
A big game-changer is the integration of Copilot into Office365. Consider asking a chatbot to quickly summarize that lengthy, tedious report for you so you don't have to in order to attend your client meeting. Do you actually need to be at the meeting or should you just stop there? All you need to do is ask Copilot to summarize it and then send you the notes.
For anyone who has heard the phrase "death by PowerPoint," seeing a demonstration of it quickly create an elegant PowerPoint presentation was genuinely pretty moving.
According to Microsoft, this gives you more time to work on other projects. What if Copilot, however, had also accomplished those goals before you one day?
