Before letting you know the tips and tricks of doing a group audio and video call, I would like to let you know that only 4 people were allowed to make a group audio and video call. Later on, WhatsApp increased its limit to eight including the person who is making the video or audio call.

How To Make an Audio Call on WhatsApp

As I told you in the beginning WhatsApp group call features permit you to have calls with up to eight people in them. If you try to add more people than a total of eight including yourself then you'll find it doesn't work let's start with the instructions for group audio call.

STEP 1: In order to make a voice call on a group in WhatsApp, first of all, you would need to open your chat with one of the contacts you want to include in the call.

STEP 2: Tap the phone icon to start a voice call with that contact.

STEP 3: Once that person acknowledge your call, that tap the “Add” button in the top right corner

STEP 4: Now select the other contact you want to add to your call then tap the “Add” button again.

STEP 5:The contact you are adding will be shown who is on the call already when the Incoming call pops up on their device once they answer enjoy your group voice call.

How To Make a Video Call on WhatsApp

Making a group video call on WhatsApp is very similar to an audio call. You would need to follow the below step-by-step instructions to perform a group video call on WhatsApp.

STEP 1: First of all, for a group video call you would need to open your chat with one of the people you want to initiate your WhatsApp group call.

STEP 2: Now after selecting one of the people you want in your group call then you would need to tap the video camera button available in the top right corner to initiate a video call with that contact person.

STEP 3: When that person answers the “Add” button and selects the contact you want to invite to your call.

STEP 4: Repeat if you want to add a 4th person that is all it takes to use the new group voice and video call features on WhatsApp
